‘Poplar’ – details of inaugural public services

News from The Kent & East Sussex Railway about their Best of British weekend taking place from 2 to 5 June, including a unique opportunity to ride behind ‘Poplar’ on her first public service after overhaul:

Thursday 2nd June

Join us for ‘Poplar’ – An Inaugural Special

‘Poplar’ is scheduled to run her first public service after restoration.

She will be joined by sister Terrier ‘Knowle’ across the whole bank holiday weekend.

Hauling a train of vintage carriages, ‘Poplar’ will depart Tenterden Town Station for Bodiam at 11:45am, arriving back at 1:40pm. Refreshments will be available to purchase prior to departure and may be taken on the train. Tickets for this amazing Inaugural Special experience are just £30.00 (no discounts apply) spaces are limited and offered on a first come, first served basis.

You can also enjoy riding behind ‘Poplar’ and ‘Knowle’ through the beautiful Wealden countryside at 2.20 pm on Thursday 2 June and 11.45 am & 2.20 pm on Friday 3 June, Saturday 4 June and Sunday 5 June.
