29 to 31 July 2022 – Terrier gala at the Bluebell Railway
Come and celebrate the 150th birthday of ‘Fenchurch’. The locomotive is currently in overhaul and is scheduled to return to feature in the gala – ‘Newport’ will also be visiting from the Isle of Wight Steam Railway together with ‘Poplar’ from the Kent and East Sussex Railway!

14 August 2022 – Island Heritage Train Day
As part of this event, ‘Newport’ will be hauling passenger services on the line.

17 to 18 September 2022 – Autumn Gala
Celebrating the Ventnor West branch. Look out for one or both of the Isle of Wight Steam Railway’s Terrier locomotives which were a common sight on this branch until the 1940s. During the weekend there will be opportunities to ride aboard the push-pull carriages, veterans from the Ventnor West line, hauled by one of the Terriers.

8 May 2022 – Island Heritage Train Day
As part of this event, ‘Newport’ will be pulling Victorian 4-wheeled carriages in the morning, then a heritage Southern Railway goods train in the afternoon.
2 to 5 June 2022 – ‘Best of British’ at the Kent & East Sussex Railway
A weekend to celebrate the Best of British as we mark the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. ‘Poplar’ is scheduled to run her first public service after overhaul on Thursday 2nd June and will be joined by sister Terrier ‘Knowle’ across the weekend.
12 June 2022 – Island Heritage Train Day
As part of this event, ‘Newport’ will be hauling the push-pull set as a two-carriage train. Spaces on these trains are limited, so please book early to secure your seats.

18 and 19 June – ‘Poplar’ visits the Docklands Light Railway
As part of an educational programme for schools funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, ‘Poplar’ will visit the Poplar depot of the DLR. Over this weekend, public access is available by pre-booking so you can view the engine on static display and photograph it beneath Canary Wharf’s towers.
